Marine biologist Johnny Gaskell and a team of researchers are finding previously unknown blue holes using Google Maps.

He's out to find more blue holes after witnessing Cyclone Debbie destroy many of the reefs in it's path in 2017.

Using satellite view feature in Google Maps, Johnny has followed the cyclone’s path to mark areas along the reef that might have been spared from damage.

Johnny has found healthy coral formations in deep sea that have sat undisturbed, possibly for centuries.
