In response to the controversy, the Central Government took action. Rinku Dugga was transferred to Arunachal Pradesh, and her husband, Sanjeev Khirwar, was moved to Ladakh.

Now, it has come to light that IAS officer Rinku Dugga has been forcibly retired from her position.
Nowadays the couple grabbed public attention again and this time action was taken over their discipline.

The government has the power to make any government employee retire if they believe it’s necessary for the public good, as reported by PTI and the sources they mentioned.
This situation started when Rinku Dugga and her husband, Sanjeev Khirwar, who is also an IAS officer from the same batch (1994), were moved out of Delhi last year.
The reason for their transfer stemmed from a report by The Indian Express. It claimed that athletes at Thyagraj Stadium were being told to end their training early so that the IAS couple could take their dog for a walk in the evening at the stadium.
After this report, the Ministry of Home Affairs got a report from the chief secretary of Delhi, explaining what happened with the alleged misuse of Thyagraj Stadium by the couple.
This report caused a lot of anger among athletes and the public. Sanjeev Khirwar, who was the principal secretary for revenue in the Delhi government, was sent to Ladakh as a result. Meanwhile, 54-year-old Rinku Dugga took on the role of Principal Secretary for Indigenous Affairs in Arunachal Pradesh.
Is She Compulsorily Retired By the Government?
Based on the information available, Rinku Dugga has been compelled to retire under a rule known as Fundamental Rule (FR) 56(J), which is part of the Central Civil Services (CCS) Pension Rules from 1972. This decision was made after reviewing her work history.
It’s important to note that the government has the authority to retire its employees if it believes that doing so serves the public interest. In other words, if the government thinks that it’s better for the public, they can require an employee to retire.
