Priya Rajan (Chennai Mayor) Biography:- Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has announced that 28-year-old Priya Rajan will be the new Mayor of Chennai. Priya will be the first Mayor since 1971. She was elected and won ward 74 Mangalapuram in the recently-concluded polls and held the post of Mayor of Chennai. She is the youngest third woman mayor of Chennai following Tara Cherian and Kamakshi Jayaraman.
Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam nominated the posts of mayors and deputy mayors of municipal corporations and chairperson and vice-chairperson of municipalities and town panchayats on Thrusday.
Priya Rajan won the post of Chennai Mayor and Mahesh Kumar as the Deputy Mayor of Chennai from ward 169 from the Perungudi zone.
