Mateusz Gamrot is a professional mixed martial artist from Poland. He is famous for participating in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. His division is Lightweight. He is also a former KSW Featherweight Champion and KSW Lightweight Champion.
His journey into combat sports began in his childhood when he discovered wrestling at the age of ten. His passion for sports took him to a boarding school in Milicz, where he honed his freestyle wrestling skills.
He got popular in the Polish junior and youth wrestling circuit and represented his country with pride. However, his ambition knew no limits, and he entered MMA, beginning his rigorous training journey in mixed martial arts in 2011 under the expert guidance of world champion in wrestling Andrzej Koscielski.
He made his professional MMA debut in 2012 and won his first match. By the end of that year, he had picked up two more wins and caught the attention of KSW, one of Europe’s leading MMA organizations. Gamerot’s KSW journey began on June 8, 2013, at KSW 23, where he won against Mateusz Zawadzki via TKO.
Before moving to the UFC, Mateusz had a successful MMA career and was the lightweight and featherweight champion in KSW. Mateusz posts photos of his family from time to time.
He made his UFC debut against Guram Kutateladze in his UFC debut on October 18, 2020, but he lost via a split decision.
Since then, Mateusz has demonstrated his ability to defeat the best fighters in the division. “The Gamer” is ranked #7 in the UFC lightweight rankings as of September 2023.
