Career
She made her debut in Bollywood in the year 1985 in the film Patthar Dil. Later that year she starred in many movies like Adventures of Tarzan, Mera Lahoo, Dariya Dil, Sone pe Suhaaga, Gair Kanooni, Jisi Karni Waisi Bharni, Khoon Ka Karz.
In 1991, she starred in the movie Hum where she played the lead role opposite Amitabh Bachchan. In the movie, she was cast as Jumma and the popular song “Jumma Chumma De De” was picturized on her. She left the masses mesmerized with her role and soon became a household name.
Her last film was Humlaa (1992). During the same time, she refused film offers for none other than Yash Chopra.
Even after her short-lived career in the film industry, she will always have a special place in the heart of the Indian audience.
Personal Life
Kimi Katkar quit the Hindi film industry in 1992 after her marriage to photographer and ad filmmaker Shantanu Sheorey. She got settled in Melbourne, Australia, and has one son, Siddharth.
