Keith Jefferson was a talented actor known for his work with Quentin Tarantino on movies like Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. He passed away at the age of 53.
The announcement of his death was made by Nicole St. John on October 5, 2023. It’s worth noting that Keith Jefferson himself had shared news of his cancer battle on his Instagram account.
“Now and then God will give you a challenge and leave it up to you to fix it,” he wrote then. “When I was first diagnosed with cancer I had to stop, pause, and didn’t want to share with anyone. Not my family nor extended family. Today I’m finally at a place to share because my faith is getting stronger.”
Keith Jefferson was born on April 7, 1970, in Houston. He earned a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in musical theater from U.S. International in San Diego and later obtained an MFA (Master of Fine Arts) in acting from the University of Arizona. His journey in the world of acting began with his first onscreen role in “Boys on the Side” in 1995.
Keith Jefferson is best known for his roles in Quentin Tarantino’s films. In “Django Unchained” (2012), he portrayed the character Pudgy Ralph alongside stars like Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Samuel L. Jackson.
He continued his collaboration with Tarantino, appearing as Charly in “The Hateful Eight” (2015) and as Land Pirate Keith in “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” (2019).
