Geetanjali’s 2000 novel My was shortlisted for the Crossword Book Award in 2001. This novel was translated into English by Neeta Kumar which was republished by Niyogi Books in 2017.
Her novel Rit Tomb (2018), translated into English as Tomb by Daisy Rockwell, won the International Booker Prize in 2022. She has also written a critical work on Premchand.
She has become the first Indian to win the International Booker Prize for her novel ‘Rit Samadhi’. The award is given worldwide for the best-translated work of the novel.
The title of the English version of the novel is ‘Tomb of the Sand’.
