On September 10, 2023, Robinson died in a hospital in San Antonio, Texas. According to reports, his death was caused due to cardiac arrest and other related complications.
Before this, Robinson had to retire early from music in September 2014. Due to his complications in surgery, he was permanently unable to sing, which led him to officially announce his restaurant from the studio and stage.
In his post, he said he had to undergo a surgical procedure, and with a heavy heart, Charlie had no option other than to retire.
He was hopeful to perform more, but it won’t be possible due to his condition. Charlie thanked his fans for their support and love and also asked them to keep supporting him in the future.

Charlie had a knee injury, which led him to end his football career. He came to Texas in late 1980 and, in 1996, launched his solo album. Charlie also signed with Sony and released his album under Lucky Dog Records. The album Life of the Party gave three of the most significant hits of his whole career.
In 2003, Charlie was invited as a judge for the Nashville Star TV singing competition show. However, he wasn’t happy with what they were expecting and putting limitations, so he moved to ‘Good Times,’ which was a smaller independent label in 2004.
After releasing multiple hits, classic rock covers like ‘You Shook Me All Night Along, ‘Call Me the Breeze,’ and ‘Stay All Night’, and forming his live band, the artist announced his retirement in 2018 due to his throat surgery. Robinson was married to Emily Erwin in 1999. She was a member of The Chicks country band and fellow songwriter. They held a private wedding at Cibolo Creek Ranch, inviting only their family and close friends.
They had three children together: Charles Augustus, along with twins Henry and Julianna in 2002. But in 2008, the couple decided to get divorced. As for their kids, they had mutual custody.
In 2015, Robinson remarried to Kristen. They both had a son named Jett James in 2020.
