In 1986, he decided to go to Saudi Arabia and took up a job there but after some time Abdul Karim lost his job due to his laziness and returned to Mumbai after a few years.
After losing his job and moving to Mumbai again, Karim started working as a travel agent and exporting manpower to Saudi Arabia. After this, Karim also opened a company named Arabian Metro Travels in New Marine Lines.
He was so blinded by his desire to earn money that he gave up honesty took the wrong paths and soon got involved in illegal business practices.
Abdul Karim Telgi used to make fake immigration clearance documents for laborers wishing to go to Gulf countries. He was involved in such wrongdoings for about 3 years, but in 1991, Mumbai Police got information about his wrongdoings.
